The Girls' Preparatory invites applications for the position of a full-time Physical Education teacher available from 1 September 2024.St Stithians promotes holistic education and you would be expected to lead, manage and coach specific sporting codes. We are looking for a teacher who can creatively design, implement and assess a CAPS aligned-curriculum across Grades 3 to 7. You must be able to integrate curriculum planning with that of other academic teams working on Inquiry Based Learning (IBL). In addition, we have a responsive professional development programme and encourage staff to make the most of the lifelong learning opportunities we offer.The requirements for this position are:
- Experience in teaching Physical Education as part of the curriculum, and coaching sport is essential
- The ability to teach an academic subject will be an advantage
- A keen insight into the holistic development of girls through sport
- Good logistical planning and administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and feedback skills appropriate to a diverse community
- A leadership opportunity to work and collaborate within the broader campus sports departments
- The ability to foster and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders
- An ability to be flexible, innovative and embrace change
- An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team
