- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software or Controls Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience performing embedded controls design or validation.
- Must be fluent in both English and Portuguese.
- Working knowledge of Battery Management System (BMS) architecture & functionality as applied to Lithium -ion Batteries
- Practical understanding of analog and digital electronics circuits
- Working knowledge of Software development lifecycle and associated tools such as ClearQuest and Software Defect logging.
- Working knowledge of CENELEC, IEC/EN 50657, 50126 Railway Applications Software Integrity related Standards (Automotive or Industrial equivalents also acceptable)
- Experience developing control requirements, Matlab Simulink model implementation
- Experience developing & executing Matlab Simulink Test harness’s
- Experience executing controls/software validation utilizing HitL simulators
- Experience performing Locomotive level Validation Testing or similar level OHV or other industrial equivalent applications.
- Prior exposure to manufacturing & lab environments
- Strong project management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

- Participate in design reviews developing and documenting validation plans,
- Identify test equipment and test apparatus requirements and coordinate the procurement in order to execute validation
- Provide Factory Support throughout Loco Build Lifecycle regarding Energy Storage/BMS integration
- Lead on Loco Energy Storage/BMS Subsystem Validation (Engineering Validation/Type Testing)
- Lead on Loco Energy Storage/BMS Subsystem Commercial Test/Routine Test definition, integration into overall Loco Commercial Test plan, and support initial execution with manufacturing personnel
- Track, manage, and report status of development & validation efforts to various levels of the organization.
- Identify and escalate emerging issues and offer possible mitigations/next steps
