Postdoc Future Engineering Skills

- Which skills are currently taught at TU Delft? What do we know about the learning outcomes? How does the above skills are embedded in the current curriculum?
- What are the skills engineers need or should have for their future work? Does the view on these skills differ between society, employers, students and the different faculties of TUD?
- How can future skills (identified above) best be embedded, taught and learned based on theoretical insights and tacit knowledge?
- Literature review on the current paradigms and endeavors in relation to future engineering skills, with the focus on teaching the teachers.
- Creating a platform/repository for learning initiatives.
- A PhD related and not limited to education sciences, engineering education research, policies or management.
- Experience with publishing scientific results in academic journals.
- Strong experience in designing, performing and analysing qualitative research methods, including systematic literature review, interviews and focus groups.
- Teaching experience (or proven interest) on subjects within TU Delft disciplines related to engineering, social science, design or applied sciences (desired, not compulsory)
- Experience with organizing round tables and workshops, and writing policy recommendations.
- Experience or interest in educational design and innovation.
- Familiarity with contemporary theories and philosophy of (engineering) education.
- Strong social, communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interest in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
- Good command of verbal and written English. Dutch language is an asset (not compulsory) .
- A motivation letter (2 A4 pages).
- A CV that includes education and employment history, publications, and courses taught.
- A research statement that includes applicant's vision on the theme, supported by relevant publications (2 A4 pages).
- A diversity statement (optional).
- Names and contact details of at least two references.
- The Interviews will take place in the third week of June. Selected applicants should be available from June 17th - June 28th for interview.
- A pre-employment screening can be part of the selection procedure.

- An international workshop or a round-table session to involve feedback from other universities.
