Then read on!In this role you are responsible for managing the terminal assets.
You proactively carry out the maintenance program and will help us on our green journey, the transition to electric. All with the aim of keeping the terminal running safely, efficiently, eco-consciously and cost-effectively, and if it arises help expanding.
You will work closely with Terminal Managers/Operations, Operations, HSSEQ, Finance, Procurement and other departments at HQ and will be part of the Terminal Management Teams in Vlaardingen and Ghent. You will be reporting to both Terminal Directors.What are you going to do?
  • Ensure efficient management of all technical resources at the terminal and management of the maintenance system.
  • Taking care of the annual budget of planning, preparation, and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for project management; set up, implement, support and close follow up of all infrastructure related projects (quay, linkspan, noise barrier, gate, sewerage, shore power installation, ventilation, (potential) wind turbine etc.).
  • Responsible for contract management; negotiating, preparing, monitoring and interim follow-up of all terminal-related contracts (buildings, electricity)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with developers, contractors, external consultants, local authorities, DFDS colleagues and others to ensure high-quality services and share best practices.
  • Optimising supplier selection to continuously improve safety - quality and productivity.
  • Identify and analyse (technical) issues and advise and implement action plans; focusing on safety, quality and productivity; that help reduce risk and protect the investments.
  • Participate in the greening of both terminals without losing track of costs.
  • Set up, follow-up and maintain KPI's, both for the two terminals individually and terminal-transcending KPI's.
  • Supervise general order and cleanliness at the terminal and in and around the buildings, report and follow up on remarks.
About youThe ideal candidate for this position has an HBO level or Bachelor and has at least 3 years of experience in a similar port environment.You also have a technical background; you have a civil engineering background and have knowledge of electrical engineering and installations. You can read and understand technical specifications and drawings.
In addition, you must be fluent in Dutch and English. Furthermore, you have a good knowledge of the Microsoft office package.You are a driven, commercial self-starter with excellent social and negotiation skills. You can convey your message and build good relationships, both internally and externally. You have an analytical mindset and digitalisation and standardisation are always in the back of your mind.
You can handle multiple projects at the same time, while maintaining a good overview of the overall picture.
