- Represent Global product stewardship with relevant business functions (including Quality, Technical Service & Development, R&D, Product Supply, and Commercial) to ensure the Product Stewardship concerns and requirements are addressed, with a particular focus on sustainable product development, market expansion, and R&D objectives.
- Be informed of upcoming chemical regulations, assess their business impact and inform internal stakeholders accordingly.
- Respond to customer’s inquiries on our products, typically about absence of chemicals of concern, compliance with sector relevant regulations, and sustainability.
- Assess and approve raw materials and finished products by working closely with internal stakeholders (procurement, R&D, sales) and suppliers.
- Manage compliance documentation (e.g. Safety Data Sheets).
- Define the detailed product composition, and maintain composition information in the ERP system.
- Collaborate with product stewards across product lines and geographical regions to improve best practices by end use (Automotive, Medical, Electronics, etc.).
- Evaluate product additives and product compositions for their sustainable chemistry.
- Represent the function when management of change (MOC) assessments occur.
- Judge (based upon expert consensus) the EH&S risks associated with new products and or new applications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or other relevant Sciences or Engineering degree is a minimum requirement.
- 2-5 years in Product Stewardship role is preferred, or experience in end use applications (for example food contact, REACH).
- Understanding of EU chemical regulations (REACH, CLP) is essential.
- Understanding of the products (compounds) or end-use application is essential.
- Excellent Communication Skills: must be able to take complex regulatory information and translate this information into the essential business requirements and communicate them to the business in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience in food contact regulations is a plus
- Experience in working on global teams and knowledge of non-EU chemical regulations is a plus
- Experience in human or environmental toxicology is a plus.
- Applicant must have strong communication skills with English and Italian being the primary business languages.
- Past experience with SAP database use and knowledge of the ESPS module for Product Stewardship would be highly beneficial.
