WA's a state (and an economy) built on mining and at Mineral Resources (MinRes), we're focused on growing that position.With this growth comes new roles and those rare opportunities to get noticed and achieve meaningful results.About the roleThe Design Coordinator is responsible for facilitating project development from concept and taking them through to detail design execution.By working with various other stakeholders including land and heritage teams, environmental, construction and engineering, the Design Coordinator has the exciting task of developing our multi discipline projects through to Construction. In addition, the Design Coordinator ensures that designs comply with relevant Company and Australian Standards and Building Codes.In this position you'll:
  • Lead early design development across all disciplines of the project
  • Key interface for environment and heritage teams
  • Work closely with Management teams and the Principal Mechanical Engineer during the design life of our projects
  • Attend site visits as required to early identify design constraints and other design considerations for feeding back to the design
  • Facilitate project design review meetings with project stakeholders
  • Liaise with both in-house and external designers and engineers as required for the successful completion of each scope
  • Interface with the engineering teams during the model development of assigned plant area(s)
  • Review of 3D models ensure safety in design elements are considered and adherence to relevant Codes and Standards
  • Delegate work packages and help manage the teams productivity

  • Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or Tertiary Degree Qualification in Engineering.
  • Multi discipline design experience preferred
  • 15+ years' industry experience
  • Previous experience in a lead role
  • Experience working with similar large scale mining construction projects
  • Strong written, verbal communication and team membership skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Desire to implement and follow through on multiple issues and projects to achieve productive results
  • High level of PC literacy across AutoCAD suite, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Packages
