Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers to plan project timelines, allocate resources, and set targets for each phase of construction.
- Supervision: Direct and oversee the daily activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in the project.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all workers adhere to safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
- Quality Control: Monitor work progress and ensure that construction activities meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct quality checks and inspections as necessary.
- Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of materials, equipment, and manpower to ensure efficient use of resources and optimal productivity.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, including technical challenges, scheduling conflicts, or budgetary constraints.
- Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with project stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and management. Provide regular progress reports and updates on project status.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, work orders, and change orders. Maintain documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to construction workers to enhance their skills and performance. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Cost Management: Monitor project expenses and control costs to ensure that the project stays within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project finances.
- Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, techniques, and safety standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Proficiency in reading construction blueprints and drawings.
- Knowledge of construction software and tools for project management and scheduling.
- Certification in construction management or a related field is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional certification or training in construction management, building trades, or a related field is desirable.
- Construction site environment with exposure to various weather conditions and physical demands.
- Regular travel to project sites may be required.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate project needs.
