- Maintain and improve the quality of data collection and the interpretation of the geotechnical mapping, monitoring, and modelling.
- Conduct geotechnical assessment for underground development, infrastructure, and stopes to provide input into mine planning.
- Maintain geotechnical monitoring systems for the surface and underground operation.
- Issue ground support instructions and ensure compliance.
- QAQC inspections of ground support
- Implement corrective action plans in consultation with Planning Engineers and Contractors.
- Support ground hazard awareness training to the broader workforce.
- Actively promote, seek, and participate in our drive for continuous improvement. Review any innovations and as applicable and apply them to the project to increase productivity, reduce cost or increase profitability.
- Assist with incident investigations and implement actions leading to continuous improvement of the site's safety performance.
- With some previous experience in a geotechnical engineering role in an underground metalliferous mine, with experience in an open stope operation.
- Strongly developed skills with Microsoft Office suite and CAD software such as Deswik.
- Previous experience implementing geotechnical processes and systems.
- Demonstrated experience doing geotechnical inspections, mapping, working with instrumentation and interpreting data.
- Prior exposure to geotechnical hazard management for both surface and underground, including seismicity.
- Good understanding of mining and extraction methods and an understanding of underground mining equipment.
- Understanding of risk management frameworks around geotechnical risks and ensuring tasks are being risk assessed, hazards are being identified and correct controls implemented.
- Establishing and maintaining productive relationships; works collaboratively to mentor others to achieve results.
- Current National Police Check (NPC)
- Valid Driver's Licence
