- Primary degree and PhD qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or closely related engineering/construction disciplines
- Experience in third level teaching and the ability to deliver modules at undergraduate and graduate levels including on the new postgraduate degrees in construction innovation
- A commitment to contribute to the development and management of postgraduate taught programmes
- A background in modern methods in civil engineering and construction including building information management, project management and modern methods of construction
- A background in the application of sustainable design and digital technologies to areas such as construction, transportation and other civil engineering disciplines
- An appropriate portfolio of high-quality peer-reviewed publications
- An established research funding record and the ability to lead collaborative research proposals
- A strong commitment to working with colleagues within existing, established research centres and groups, and a willingness and ability to develop and lead new research activity and research groupings
- An ability and willingness to conduct programme administration and management in a public service university environment
- An ability to take leadership roles in delivering new programmes, such as the postgraduate degree programmes in construction innovation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and an ability and commitment to develop collaborative relationships with other academic staff in the pursuit of teaching and research objectives of the University of Galway
- A strong commitment to working with the Engineering (and closely related) industry, particularly in terms of collaborative research.

This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy
(For pre 1995 public sector entrants in Ireland, the D class Salary rates will apply)Closing date for receipt of applications is 17:00 (Irish Time) on 13th June 2024.
