- Work closely with the leaders of the Antitrust practice to develop and implement marketing and business development plans for the practice group and individual partners
- Develop strategies to further raise the Antitrust practice’s internal/external visibility through events, sponsorships, public relations, and social media
- Assist individual lawyers in building and maintaining relationships with key organizations to maximize engagement and client development efforts
- Understand and grow the group’s existing client relationships and identification of new clients (i.e., destination work), including cross-practice and cross-region opportunities and intra-firm collaboration
- Direct and support the development of pitch and marketing collateral, RFP submissions, and pitches that help win business
- Oversee and continuously drive efficiencies the rankings and submissions process for the Antitrust practice
- Partner with all the functional groups in the Marketing Department and other administrative groups to plan and execute the Antitrust practice’s key initiatives
- College degree required - JD, MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
- 7+ years marketing/client development experience required, with at least 5 of those years in a law firm
- Strong commercial sense and confidence to understand the needs and expectations of the attorneys and clients, as well as how the marketing and business development function can facilitate and drive revenue generation and profile in the market.
- Keen ability to "connect dots"- draw conclusions, assess implications, and make recommendations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, persuasion, and motivation skills are critical to success as are collegial, collaborative, team player attributes
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting marketing and business development initiatives for an Antitrust practice of an AmLaw 100 firm or economic consulting firm
- Must be a self-starter who thrives on juggling numerous high-visibility projects all on tight deadlines and is unflappable under pressures
- Position is for a "senior doer" who will “own” the strategy, execution, and evaluation of all initiatives
- Ability to travel and attend key events on occasion
- Position is ideally based in either Washington D.C., New York or San Francisco, but other regions will be considered
