OmschrijvingWe strive for a world where there are no longer any deaths from AIDS and where people enjoy good sexual health. A world in which everyone can love freely and without fear. We do this by working together with the people who are hit hardest by HIV, STIs, discrimination and exclusion. We strengthen their voice and support them with information, knowledge and funding. For all that is love. We are working on this in the Netherlands, in two focus regions (Eastern Europe/Central Asia and Middle East/North Africa) and 10 countries worldwide.To make our dream a reality, as Team Communication Advice within the Marketing & Communication Department, we ensure that we contribute to reliable information so that people choose safe, fine and healthy sex and to our steps towards a world without aids: (funding for) prevention, treatment and cure.Team Communication Advice has a vacancy forCommunication Advisor - International Programmes(32 hours per week)What does the team do and what will you doTeam Communication Advice consists of several communication specialists working on communication challenges for the international department, the national department and the organisation as a whole. In this position, you focus on projects for the international department.Examples of projects: Love Alliance (including as a member of the Love Alliance task force); Hands Off, Emergency Fund Ukraine and new partnerships.Your tasks as communications advisor:
  • You develop communication plans based on the work plans of the international programmes
  • You create buy-in for these - strategic and creative - plans among internal and external stakeholders
  • You implement these plans together with your colleagues and international partners
  • You create content, and advise and maintain the deployment of the content on digital and social media channels
You work independently on the various projects from plan to execution. Naturally, the balance in plan versus execution differs per project.   • A fixed term contract of a year, after which the contract can be extended for an indefinite period of time in case of a positive performance evaluation and if there are sufficient financial resources
  • A salary based on salary scale 10 (Programme Officer) between €3,054 and
€4,884 gross per month at 36 hours per week, grading will depend on your experience
  • An individual choice budget (IKB) of 16.96% that you can use as you see wish
  • A personal development budget of €650 per year based on 36 hours
  • Hybrid working: You will work at our office in Amsterdam (Sloterdijk) and/or partly from home. There is also the possibility of flexible working hours and setting your own agenda
  • 100% reimbursement of your commute by public transport
  • 208 hours of leave on a full-time basis (36 hours) and you can buy additional leave through the IKB
Are you
Someone who looks at issues from different perspectives and connects with the communities we work with: people living with HIV, LGBTQ+, sex workers and people who us drugs, ideally because you can draw on your own experience or because you have been in close contact with members of these communities. And are you:
  • A driven, flexible communication advisor who connects easily and combines a helicopter view and strategic insight with a pragmatic approach
  • Someone with a project-based approach to assignments, with a good feel for external politics, context and cultural diversity in our working field
  • Proactive and meticulous
Do you have
  • A relevant educational background with a minimum of HBO-level thinking and work experience
  • Experience and skills within the field of communication (e.g. advocacy, corporate communication or journalism)
  • At least 4 years of demonstrable experience in a communications advisor role
  • Proficient fluency in spoken and written English (requirement: Residency in the Netherlands and entitled to work in the Netherlands)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English
  • Experience or affinity with Photoshop and video editing
  • Experience at an NGO and working with different partners and stakeholders is a plus
