FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a General Manager on behalf of an established agribusiness in the Galway area that specialise in animal welfare and feeding solutions. This is a full-time permanent role & a newly created position to meet the growing demands of an expanding business.Our client has made a very significant contribution to Livestock farming in recent years by providing sustainable feeding technologies. Over the years they have become a market leader with over 10 recognised international brand names. In recent years the business was awarded a Global Award for building winning partnerships by the International United Commercial Agents & Brokers.SummaryWe are now accepting cv applications for the role of General Manager. The business has grown through digital transformation in recent years so previous work experience in a software type business would be an advantage.The General Manager is entrusted with a pivotal leadership role, encompassing comprehensive oversight of all facets of the company's operations. With a primary focus on ensuring efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth, this position demands a strategic thinker with robust managerial capabilities to drive business objectives and foster a positive organisational culture. You will form a part of the senior management team & play an important part in the strategic development of the company.Duties & responsibilities

Strategic planning - Develop comprehensive strategic plans aligned with company goals and objectives.
Operations Management - Continuously evaluate and refine processes and work-flows to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Financial Management - Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives to ensure fiscal health and sustainability.
Staff Management and Development – Manage recruitment efforts to attract top talent and provide comprehensive training and mentor ship to nurture a high-performing team.
Customer Relationship Management - Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner to ensure optimal service delivery.
Business Management and Development - Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities and strategic partnerships to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
Risk Management - Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the business.
Health & Safety Management - Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor progress towards organisational goals and objectives.

Skills required.

Communication skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
Technology Proficiency - Proficiency with relevant software and technology platforms (Odoo), including customer relationship management (CRM) software, and data analytics tools.
Team Player - Collaborative and growth mindset with the ability to motivate and work effectively with colleagues at all levels.

Candidate profile

Bachelor's degree or higher in business management, business administration, finance, or a related field.

Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in areas such as strategic management, finance, or leadership.

Minimum of 3 year's experience gained within the last 5 years as General Manager in an Agri-food company or in a similar industry or sector, with a deep understanding of industry trends, challenges, and best practices.
