Day to DayThe Global Engineering Services (GES) team has an immediate opening for the newly created position of Advanced Electrical Design Engineer. The position is responsible for creating product design changes and providing product design expertise to sustain and grow Honeywell's Aerospace business.The position is at Honeywell Toulouse and includes daily collaboration with staff distributed globally at different product design centres, factories, and service centres. The GES team is focused on improving supply chain performance by maintaining and improving designs for products currently in the manufacturing.Responsibilities
  • Support multiple teams of other product design engineers, test design engineers, production, and service centre staff to resolve issues with product design, modification, upgrades, customer investigations, supplier investigations, obsolescence, and test system design changes.
  • Support product transitions from development to manufacturing phases
  • Support level 3 PCB repairs including coordination with internal and external customers for their approval and notification
  • Provide product design expertise for input into field failure investigations, suspect counterfeit parts investigations, product export/import classifications, and failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS)
  • Engage in materials savings projects to reduce manufacturing and repair costs
  • Support capital purchases initiatives. Manage manufacturing projects.
  • Provide estimates and statements of work for various engineering efforts and projects
  • Communicate directly with internal and external customers and suppliers about status on resolutions for problems such as supply chain delivery disruptions, no-fault-found situations, defect escapes, warranty review, and first-year-in-service failures
  • Eligible to work in UK
  • Support workshop production by fixing test benches failures, identify and buy critical / failing resources.
  • Support preventive maintenance. Maintain / buy spares.
  • Record failures and solutions.
  • Attend engineering & capital meeting when required.
  • Proactive support for Backlog Reduction.
  • Able to navigate in many IT systems.
Must have
  • Bachelor's degree in electronic, systems, or aerospace engineering or equivalent experience
  • English language - fluent
Beneficial
  • Knowledge of commercial and military aircraft electronical systems,
  • Familiarity with aerospace hardware qualification
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision while resolving complex situations and problems
  • Demonstrated experience in making timely decisions to address complex tasks while balancing analysis with decisiveness
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to diverse engineering topics and audiences
  • Ability to estimate business impact of engineering solutions, and to provide sound recommendations to the business teams
  • Understanding of product and system configuration management
  • Ability to learn and comply with import and export regulations (EAR and ITAR)
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers
  • Ability to handle old electronic systems as well as recent ones
