- The projects involve very diverse, multiple interfaces which change with each gate and each project. This exposes the individual to a vast range of business partner across function, factories across ASIA, people, cultures, consumers.
- R&D Partnerships - Demonstrate passion to deliver ambitious projects in a challenging time-bound environment by working in partnership within Unilever i.e., Product Development, Packaging Development, Supply Chain, Marketing, etc.
- Develop and scale up new manufacturing processes in Unilever Sourcing Units and Third Parties for innovation, renovation and cost optimization projects through delivery of process development workstream. Identified Key Process/Product/Machine parameters and, ensure Technical Transfer document completely handover between RD-SC.
- Being R&D First-Point-of-Contact for the assigned areas in Supply Chain /Sourcing Units. Lead problem solving and troubleshooting activities in manufacturing around Quality, Cost and Efficiency
- Partner with country R&D team to capture inputs and provide support on project processing requirements, as well as address any country-specific concerns on processing
- Oversee pilot plant operations and, work in lab and pilot plant, to conduct trials and experimental work.
- Manage Pilot plant across ASIA including resources, Future Capex/investment, Maintenance, S&OP, Future programs (i.e., digital pilot plant, modelling)
- Maintaining fit for purpose pilot kits, generation of SOP’s, complied with Safety and Environmental.
- Keeping abreast of developments in own area of expertise, delivering recommendations for new techniques and ways of working.
- 3RD party project management, be able to support innovation development for projects sourcing from 3rd Party manufacturer.
- Drive Processing agenda (i.e., Waste from Innovation/Renovation, Process Statistic Control, Quality, Saving from Processing, etc.) across ASIA.
- Represent regional process development team in global networks discussion to share all learning and long-term strategies.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or equivalent experience in capability field
- 3-5 years experience in FMCG R&D and process development, preferred Food and Refreshment categories with proven track record is desirable.
- High English proficiency. Good oral and written communication skills, and solid presentation skills are required.
- Good Planning and organization of assigned tasks and trials
- Has a good knowledge of data/digital and exploit tools effectively to manage Data, Information & Knowledge effectively. Able to translate and transform data into insight/ actions and make decisions based on information at hand.
- Demonstrates natural curiosity for food & refreshment innovation and technology. Brings technology insights into project team and takes actions on them.
- Must be fully operational on process engineering skills, identified capability and resource requirement for project.
- Basic knowledge of Foods Ingredients and, interaction between ingredients on Processing and, semi/finished goods.
