Offer DescriptionPhd will take place within SOFT axis of IUSTI laboratory, a collaborative team working on the physics of complex matter, from granular environments to bio-inspired systems. The Phd will take place on the campus of Chateau Gombert d'Aix Marseille University. How do powders flow? In many situations, both in nature and in industry, flows of cohesive grains (snow, dust, powders, etc.) are subject to clogging, agglomeration and intermittence phenomena. Understanding their dynamics and being able to propose constitutive laws is a real challenge. The proposed PhD is part of the European ERC project CohPa aimed at developing a fundamental physical understanding of the behaviour of cohesive granular materials. The PhD student will develop innovative experiments to investigate the flow behaviour of powders, using model materials with controlled adhesive properties.RequirementsResearch Field Engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalentResearch Field Chemistry Education Level Master Degree or equivalentResearch Field Physics Education Level Master Degree or equivalentLanguages FRENCH Level BasicResearch Field Engineering Years of Research Experience NoneResearch Field Chemistry Years of Research Experience NoneResearch Field Physics Years of Research Experience NoneAdditional InformationWebsite for additional job detailsWork Location(s)Number of offers available 1 Company/Institute Institut universitaire des systèmes thermiques industriels Country France City MARSEILLE 13 GeofieldWhere to apply WebsiteContact CityMARSEILLE 13 WebsiteSTATUS: EXPIRED
