Network Engineer - East LondonFull job descriptionCompany Overview:Kayla Business Solutions is a leading provider of IT and telecommunication services in South Africa.We specialize in deploying innovative solutions that enhance connectivity and operational efficiency for both public and private sectors.Job Description:We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis.The successful candidate will be responsible for the deployment of Telephony services across multiple sites,ensuring optimal configuration of network infrastructure to support VoIP services.Key Responsibilities:Implement and configure routing protocols specifically tailored for VoIP traffic.Create and manage Voice VLANs across multiple network switches.Define and enforce QoS policies to ensure prioritization of VoIP traffic.Enable and configure Power over Ethernet (PoE) on devices that support VoIP hardware.Develop and execute an IP address schema that integrates seamlessly with existing network architectures.Set up and manage DHCP configurations, including default gateways and necessary exclusions for VoIP services.Ensure appropriate firewall settings are enforced, including disabling SIP ALG and setting up necessary port forwarding rules.Collaborate with project management teams to meet deployment milestones and adhere to specified timelines.Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and post-deployment.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a strong focus on VoIP technologies.In-depth understanding of network protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).Hands-on experience with firewall configurations, network diagnostics, and network analytics tools.Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) is highly desirable.Ability to manage multiple projects and sites simultaneously.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.Interested candidates should submit a detailed CV, with qualifications attached and a cover letter explaining their qualifications andexperience related to the responsibilities listed above to hr@kaylasolutions.Please mention “Network Engineer - VoIP Deployment” in the subject line of your email.Job Type: Temp to permContract length: 36 monthsPay: R18 000,00 - R35 000,00 per monthLicense/Certification:CCNA (Required)Location:East London, Eastern Cape (Preferred)Willingness to travel:50% (Required)
