General Description of the Role The CI Engineer will coordinate the activities and processes involved with continuous improvement work in all areas of the plant. The CI Engineer will work to improve manufacturing and production processes using lean manufacturing and other improvement concepts. The CI Engineer will collect production data, analyze outputs, and determine corrective courses of action to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.
Mission/Objectives The CI Engineer will analyze processes and implement changes to improve efficiency, safety and quality in the plant. This will be standardized and documented to ensure stability and consistency.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
o Work with all departments to understand processes and analyze the process to make improvements to create efficiencies and cost savings.
o Gather and use data to drive decision making and priority setting
o Establish maintenance quality and consistency checks and measures. Frequent audits of machinery and equipment to be conducted to ensure proper procedures are being followed and a quality product is being processed. Provide support to operators to ensure processes are completed right the first time.
o Work with appropriate internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and/or to resolve risks when identified.
o Lead management of change activities for CI projects
o Ensure all documentation is updated after changes are made to sustain changes
o Comply with TTB and other regulatory requirements.
o Manage invoices and PO's for projects initiated for CI work.
o In coordination with the site EH&S Manager, ensure all operations comply with GMP practices and site safety rules.
o Consistently promote a safe working environment. This includes keeping all materials, supplies, tools and any other production related items in their place. Implement and sustain 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
o Implement and sustain all relevant ISO and food safety standards. Lead and/or participate in safety meetings as designated.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education
o
BA/BS degree in Engineering
Experience
o
Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in Continuous Improvement Processes
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
o
Knowledge of relevant maintenance standards, regulations and legislation
o
Ability to utilize Microsoft office and other production maintenance monitoring and control systems & technology
o
Familiarity with CMMS systems (Megamation and/or SAP preferred)
o
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
o
Ability to communicate verbally and in written format, summarizing ideas, making recommendations and setting out processes and procedures
o
Results orientation and ability to manage outputs through Key Performance Indicators
o
Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing
o
Solid data driven problem solving and action planning skills
o
Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives
o
Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent
o
PLC programming experience preferred
o
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
o
