- Manage and support SIG’s enterprise storage and backup infrastructure including tape libraries, disk libraries and backup software
- Perform resolution and root cause analysis of storage-related issues in collaboration with other teams
- Act as a “go-to” person for storage questions, create and maintain knowledge base, work and share knowledge with other teams.
- Design, deploy and perform capacity management of NAS and SAN devices in SIG’s enterprise environment
- Automate daily tasks and operations across multiple storage platforms using our modern CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy or Ansible as required
- Go hands-on with all the fantastic tech we have by visiting and performing occasional physical work in the datacenters
- Monitor and perform proactive diagnosis of systems health and performance using the right tool from our broad monitoring stack
- Through analysis of resource allocations, provide proactive reporting of Storage and Backup resource utilisation and recommend changes to ensure business continuity.
- Be expected to occasionally complete required changes during non-business hours with generous time-in-lieu arrangement
- Graduate Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in hands-on enterprise storage and backup administration role
- Experience with storage integration in Windows or Linux in enterprise environments or Hypervisor technologies such as VMware
- Proficiency in Commvault or similar with backup management and configuration experience
- Demonstrate understanding of foundational systems engineering concepts, such as TCP/IP, DNS, operating system theory, distributed computing concepts, ACL, SMB, CIFS, NFS, FC, RAID, replication, zoning, HA, FT, storage architectures
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Checkmk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus or similar
- Automation and Scripting skills are advantageous for this role, including PowerShell or Python
- Practical experience with REST APIs and knowledge of automation tools such as Octopus Deploy or Ansible is also helpful.
- Integration experience with database technology such as Oracle is beneficial.
- Systems Administration level knowledge of one or more the following would be a bonus: Brocade Fabric OS, VAST, GPFS, VSAN, NetApp ONTAP, Pure, Windows and Linux Servers
- Strong verbal and written communication – ability to convey technically complex subjects in a clear and concise manner
