In this varied you will manage all our client's customers across NZ, maintaining existing customer accounts and growing their market share. You will report to your managers in Australia, and represent our client's products and suppliers within the commercial and industrial laboratory market. You will be the first line of contact with customers for information, prices, tech support and service – talking to a large range of people in different environments about a variety of products.This position would ideally suit a self-motivated, confident and positive candidate with a background in science and strong business acumen. You will also be a team player, enjoy talking to a wide variety of people and be able to communicate with confidence through all stages of the sales process.You must be willing to travel for this role, with one regional trip each month (may be a day trip, or a couple of months - you manage your clients and meetings). You will be expected to spend much of your time meeting with customers.Skills/ experience
This role combines your technical and sales experience, along with your interpersonal and organisational skills. You'll also need to bring a positive and friendly attitude to fit into the collaborative and accepting culture this company strives for.In addition, preferred candidates will have the following skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, business, or similar
- Sales experience, entrepreneurial and commercial acumen; strong negotiation skills
- Laboratory experience is preferred
- Micro testing experience preferred
- Knowledge of the NZ lab equipment market and competitionideal
- Proven interpersonal and professional relationship building skills
- Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
- Positive and collaborative team player
- Self-motivated and autonomous
- Highly organised with the ability to multitask
- Happy to travel for work
