Join our team in Alstom Innovation Center developing solutions for Autonomous Train. We are searching for a talented Product Engineer that will develop the next generation of products that will pave the way to train autonomy within our agile Innovation team. You will work in close collaboration with Engineering, Software & Mobility experts in an international context.YOUR MISSIONAs an innovation Product Engineer, you join a multidisciplinary, skilled and motivated team developing our train autonomy solutions. In this role you will imagine, specify and build solutions such as Remote Driving functions and more specifically selecting relevant hardware and software components (such as image sensors, LiDAR, RADAR, HMI, etc.) and integrating them into a real-time embedded environment with safety and cybersecurity considerations.
You will have to interface with both onboard train components, including perception devices, and wayside supervision systems.
You will also have the opportunity to participate to lab and on-site train tests in order to validate the solutions and qualify the components in real world environment on several of our prototypes.RESPONSIBILITIESProduct engineers are the link between development and project engineering activities. Product Engineer oversees the conception and architecture of the system:
- In cooperation with the program manager, gather different solutions use cases, to identify product needs and requirements
- Define a reliable, performant and optimized technical solution interfacing with software development team and external providers (sensors manufacturers, hardware components, etc..)
- Apply the most appropriate technological strategies to solve technological challenges (perception, communication…),
- Ensure a technological benchmark to understand the value provided by each approach (make or buy), constraints, restriction and application context. Ensure technology watch on relevant solutions,
- Participate to test and monitoring environment definition together with software team then participate to laboratory and on-site testing of Proof of Concept on a real train
- Engineering school or master's degree preferably with a specialization in robotics, computer science, telecommunications
- At least 3 years of experience in one or several of these areas: robotic applications, telecommunications, embedded real-time applications, system design & Knowledge of one programming language: C++ , Python, Qt, knowledge of ROS2 is appreciated
- Ability to solve technical problems: with rigor, a critical mind and an analytical approach, but also demonstrating creativity. You are capable of synthesizing and document the different aspects of a technical subject, as well as making decisions
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a taste for collaborative work: you enjoy working in a team in challenging and sometimes uncertain environments, are open-minded and motivated by multicultural environments. Experience working with external providers or with customers in project environment is a plus
- Fluent in both French and English. German is a plus.
