Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with a company who are leaders in lifecycle construction and operations for the Utilities and Infrastructure sectors and are looking for a qualified Quantity Surveyor to work on site at Hinkley Point C Nuclear Station in Bridgwater.As the Quantity Surveyor you will support the day-to-day requirements of the Commercial team across various disciplines across the Business. You will be responsible for supporting the Project Managers with sound commercial advice and support.If you’re a QS with experience in drafting and issuing NEC3 contracts, working with multidisciplined teams and have excellent commercial awareness, then upload your CV to apply today.
Responsibilities and dutiesAs the Quantity Surveyor you will:
  • Ensure all reporting procedures are adhered to
  • Manage the relationships with client commercial teams to ensure a constructive relationship is maintained throughout the contract period
  • Ensure commercial risks are identified, analysed, and managed
  • Supply chain management to include drafting and issuing of NEC3 TSC subcontracts
  • Compile monthly CVR reports
  • Input into application and invoicing process
  • Maintain good relationships with the client
  • Compile forecasts and attend forecast meetings
  • Support Contracts Managers and operational teams by offering sound commercial advice on projects
  • Utilise CEMAR contract management
  • Assist with the development of the departmental Commercial Strategy
  • Manage projects to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.
Professional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following:
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • Ability to manage multiple schemes
  • Experience working within construction sector is essential
Personal skillsThe QS role would suit someone who has:
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to work well under pressure, and to deadlines
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work on site at Hinkley Point C
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
Salary and benefits of the Quantity Surveyor role
  • Salary up to £60,000 DOE
  • 25 days holiday plus BH, rising to 28 days with length of service
