The Swine Technology Transfer Specialist plays a vital role in offering top-notch technical support and analysis to swine customers and industry influencers.This position provides the technical execution of new product ideas, in line with the strategy of the company and in co-operation with teams, in order to achieve feasible and profitable product developments and innovations, thereby taking maximum advantage of market opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Swine Technology Application, this role will collaborate closely with the Innovation Team to support the NutriOpt program.Job Description:The Swine Technology Transfer Specialist is pivotal in delivering top-tier technical support and analysis to customers and industry influencers, analyzing swine production data to drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability improvements. Reporting to the Director of Swine Technology Application with a dotted line to the Swine Business Manager in Ontario, the role collaborates closely with the Innovation Team to support NutriOpt programs like Compiporc, providing data-driven insights, aiding decision-making processes, and enhancing producer performance across North American operations. Additionally, the Specialist works directly with pork producers in Ontario, implementing digital applications, monitoring key performance indicators, and offering technical support, ensuring seamless integration of digital tools and identifying improvement opportunities through data analysis.Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand the Canadian swine sector and value chain, building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Manage on-farm performance benchmarking to ensure Compiporc, Scenario, and NutriOpt-related tools objectively measure technology benefits nationally.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions in swine production.
  • Consult with swine customers on their key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with the innovation and sales teams to develop tailored strategies and recommendations for swine customers.
  • Contribute to technical and sales meetings by sharing customer performance metrics and providing insights into production trends.
  • Conduct comparative analysis of production performance against industry standards and competitors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for optimizing performance and reducing costs.
  • Train and support swine production teams in data collection, performance tracking, and analytics interpretation.
  • Assist the sales team on farms, addressing performance challenges and customer needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for inquiries and issues related to swine performance analytics.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • MSc in Animal Science, Swine Nutrition, Agriculture, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in swine production with a strong understanding of industry practices and performance metrics.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated superior customer focus and ability to follow up, while aligning with internal processes and procedures.
