We are expanding our Technology Centre in Kuala Lumpur and looking for passionate individuals with excellence and compete to win mind-set to drive change in our business, and who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative, and diverse global teams.Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer with a minimum of five years of working experience with polymers to join our Polymers group in the Kuala Lumpur Technology Center. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and may require overseas business travels based on business needs. The role will require flexibility to work across different time zones.What you will do
- If successful, you will take a leading role in developing and implementing process engineering improvement ideas, and establishing robust tools for Polymers platform to identify and progress improvement ideas, prioritize projects and support business decisions. We are establishing the group to expand our organizational expertise in Polymers process engineering, process technology, process optimization and usage of tools such as process simulation.
- Work in a supportive and collaborative environment focused on delivering value to our business
- Involvement in process modelling and optimization
- Establish robust tools for process modelling based on various business needs
- Develop energy balances, cost model and improve efficiencies in process
- Support manufacturing assets improvement activities such as development of design basis and lead/ support plant trials
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and initiate sustainable implementations
- Keep the team up to date on Process simulation tool developments and look for new solutions to improve profitability
- Influence decision making with new ideas, enhancements, and improvement to existing processes
- Develop and coach young engineers
- To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Be able to demonstrate the following:
o Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
o Innovative and analytical thinking
o Intellectual rigor, strong drive, and desire to improve processes
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural global team
- Have experience working with polymers and process engineering
- The ability to identify opportunities from existing process conditions
- Hands on experience with any simulation modelling / simulation tools in chemical process
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in any polymer industry
- Have in-depth understanding of basic process engineering and troubleshooting
- Have work experience in the Polymers industry
- Hands-on experiences in Process Simulation tool e.g. ASPEN / Pro-II
- Ability to manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities.
