  • Be the Group’s strategic driver on Sustainability, including acting as an influencer with internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversees implementation and operationalization of the Group’s Sustainability Strategy through a dedicated network of Sustainability Officers
  • Coordinates the Group’s sustainability-related disclosures to ensure coherence and consistency with market standards and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
The delivery of the Group Sustainability department’s mandate requires active coordination with and support across several other Group functions and operating entities.Within this Department, you will report to the Head of Sustainability Strategy Development.What you will be doing:Within the Group Sustainability department, this person will support the delivery of key strategic projects relating to the Group’s Sustainability Strategy and commitments in collaboration with the teams of the Group Sustainability department, notably:
  • ESG Business Development and Outreach to develop insurance offers (e.g. climate transition and climate change adaptation, circular economy, inclusive protection incl. Women in Insurance initiative, human rights);
  • ESG Integration to integrate sustainability through the Sustainability network and other professional families (e.g. upskilling, philanthropy & volunteering) and to coordinate ESG reporting;
  • AXA Foresight to scout the horizon of emerging trends and weak signals to power AXA’s vision for the future (e.g. forward-looking analyses on major social and economic trends, impact of climate change to the future of health);
  • AXA Research Fund, scientific philanthropy initiative that aims to support researchers in the areas of climate & environment, health, socio-economics & new technologies.
Key missions will include:
  • Strengthening AXA’s Sustainability performance & leadership positioning. This involves:
  • research/benchmarking, data/information collection and analysis of best practices and innovative initiatives on sustainability topics (e.g. regenerative business, shared value, social impact, planetary boundaries, nature);
  • preparation of recommendations for strategy development, business development and thought leadership;
  • regular updates on strategic matters: preparation and/or proofreading of memos and presentations (e.g. presentations to the Role in Society Steering Committee (RISSC), memos to the Management Committee and/or Board of Directors of AXA).
  • Regularly liaising with internal and external stakeholders in project mode to contribute to building and/or implementing a clear environmental and social opportunity framework aimed at supporting the business across its activities as an insurer, as an investor and as a responsible corporation;
  • Coordinating as needed (i) the Group’s regulatory and/or voluntary disclosures, (ii) information for reporting, external rating agencies and other external stakeholders (e.g. investors, clients, partners, NGOs) and (iii) partnerships/events/outreach opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Experience and technical requirements
  • Pursuing an advanced degree, preferably with a specialization in sustainability or a specific sustainability-related expertise (e.g. climate, biodiversity, social impact)
  • Prior experience (e.g. internship), preferably in the financial services sector or in a consulting firm – experience acquired in the public sector or in an NGO will also be considered
  • Interest in or prior experience working on sustainability-related recommendations, standards and reporting frameworks would be an advantage
  • Strong project management skills, able to follow complex projects with many actors
  • Excellent skills at MS Office (notably Excel, PowerPoint) o Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken
  • Behavioral skills and competencies o Dynamic, pro-active, forward-looking mindset
  • Critical analysis skills; at ease with both written information and data
  • Able to communicate clearly and persuasively in an aim to provide main ideas and summarize key information
  • Strong team player with capacity to work in transversal teams with other central functions and external stakeholders and at ease in a multi-cultural environment
  • Autonomy, ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver results within a given time
