Position Title: Agronomy Business Support Lead CEPosition Type: Regular - Full-Time ​Position Location: HarnesRequisition ID: 29549We are looking for our new Business Support Lead Continental Europe (CE) to join our Agronomy (Ag) organization at McCain. In a context of growing economic, climate volatility and increased competition, we can strengthen our value proposition by providing a service on agricultural insights by registering as an expert in agriculture and a leader in the agroecological transition.You will provide our external customers with insights on crop management and CSR initiatives. Our initiatives (Regenerative Agriculture, Corporate Social Responsibility) are great opportunities to differentiate McCain from the competition, provided they are explained / promoted/ experienced by our external customers.As an interlocutor of the commercial team (QSR/Retail/Food service) you will provide agricultural insights answer to customer needs towards agricultural, variety and CSR topics to bring added value to the business and contribute to the growth & success at customer and company level.You will report to the Agronomy Director CE. This position will be based in either Harnes, France or Lewedorp, the Netherlands.Key responsibilities:You strengthen our relationship with customers:
  • You are the ‘farming’ key contact with external customers at European level: primarily Quick Service Restaurants business but also the main retailers & Food Service customers, related to Agriculture (Potato) topics.
  • You drive external customers in their Agriculture roadmap (e.g., Regenerative Agriculture, Varieties, CO2 footprint), working on aligning McCain and customer interests as much as possible.
  • You propose action plans to external customers to feed their Agriculture roadmap.
  • You implement these actions plans, communicate results to customers and improve these action plans accordingly.
  • You translate external customer requests and roadmaps into development priorities for the Agronomy department.
  • You provide regular updates on crop status (weekly, monthly + upon request).
  • You develop specific tools to gather customers’ agricultural expectations and update it on a regular frequency.
  • You represent McCain for any agricultural expectation from the customer.
  • In collaboration with commercial and marketing teams, you build and roll-out the strategy to engage with external customers.
You strengthen our relationship with internal stakeholders:
  • You support the brand and develop Agriculture understanding internally through trainings/communication/events dedicated to internal stakeholders (especially customer facing teams).
  • You keep the business up to date on crop evolution in the field and in storage.
Qualifications:
  • You have a master’s degree in agriculture or agronomy and excellent potato knowledge (growing practices, storing, economics, diseases, genomic, varieties developed regionally and globally).
  • You have a basic knowledge of contracting policy, sourcing strategy and market drivers.
  • You are an excellent relationship builder, to build sustainable relationships with the customers (internal & external).
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
  • You have excellent oral and written communications skills across all levels of the organization, and strong written and spoken English skills.
  • French would be a plus.
