- Ensure inventory count policies are being implemented across the Manufacturing platform of the Division.
- Perform regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies (onsite / remote)
- Present audit results on a quarterly basis to Management highlighting issues, trends and deficiencies on Inventory count policy.
- Assist with remediating noted deficiencies identified via audits.
- Support Stakeholders with external audit requirements.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve inventory processes, efficiency and consistency across sites
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory financial reports for management review
- Develop key inventory metrics (turns, usage) to monitor slow movers and excess inventory.
- Works with Local Sites to address variances in on Inventory Metrics
- Develop and maintain reporting on material usages.
- Perform variance analyses to identify key drivers of inventory.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather inventory data and financial information.
- Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in inventory management practices
- Stay up-to-date on accounting principles and regulations related to inventory valuation and reporting
- Lead inventory monthly inventory control calls with finance and operational management.
- May also be required to learn and develop expertise in inventory costing.
- CPA and/or degree in Finance, with 3-5 years of related business experience (an understanding of inventory financial and operation risks is a must).
- Demonstrated level of initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects and work well with others
- Must be willing to travel as required (expected 10-20%) with an emphasis on flexibility on work life balance
- Advanced Computer skills to analyze large amounts of data to produce effective reports, documents, and spreadsheets (Advanced Macro skills is an asset).
- Proven Time Management skills: ability to plan, set and assign work priorities to meet and/or exceed performance goals
- Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with colleagues including senior management
- Attention to detail and an appreciation and acumen for placing/having thorough controls in place
- Knowledge of inventory accounting guidelines, principles and procedures
- Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is essential as the candidate will have to work closely with teams located across Canada
