User Experience Intern

- Design:
- Assist in design sessions with product managers, developers and others
- Design workflows and prototypes based on business requirements and user research
- Design high-fidelity user interfaces and interactions
- Collaborate and integrate contributions from Researchers, Writers, UI and UX Designers
- Write microcopy and other types of instructional text
- Research:
- Assist in user research activities, such as interviews or usability testing
- Craft user surveys, analyze data and report results
- General:
- Design and deliver presentations to an audience
- Seek coaching and apply feedback from senior team members
- Plus, any other responsibilities deemed reasonable and necessary by management
- Note: This position is not engineering, marketing, graphic or print oriented
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction or a related discipline, such as Computer Science, Web/Visual Design or Psychology
- Depending on your educational background, demonstrated familiarity with any of the following techniques:
- Contextual inquiry, interviewing, personas
- Task analysis, heuristic reviews, usability testing
- Sketching, paper or digital prototyping
- Color theory, layout, design patterns, interaction design, typography
- Content strategy, card sorting
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Be legally authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship for an employment visa now or in the future.
- A basic understanding of common web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
- Prior internship experiences at software or technology companies
- Demonstrated familiarity with any of the following types of software:
- Figma for digital design
- Axure for prototyping
- Statistical packages or Excel for quantitative analysis
- PowerBI for dashboards and data analysis
- Alchemer (or similar) for surveys
