Some experience preferred but not necessary.Please note this is a drive in position and no on farm accommodation is currently available however we are located 15 minutes from Masterton and 20 minutes from Carterton.We run a 9 on 3 off roster to allow for a good work life balance.Job Description:
Tasks involved but not limited to
- Operating 2 & 4 wheeler motorbikes
- Milking
- Plant & shed hygiene
- Assisting in the implementation of animal health regimes
- Assisting during calving, such as collecting cows & calves from springer mob
- Operating heavy machinery such as tractor, mixer wagon, mower etc
- Shifting reel & standard fences
- Effluent management
- Animal health & dairy records when required
- Comply with the farms Health & Safety PolicyKey requirements:
- Be punctual
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a team and on your own
- Eye for detail
- Passion for animal welfare
- Physically fitA bit about the job:
- 600 Spring calving
- 200 Autumn calving
- 50 bail rotary cowshed
- Feed pad
