- Design, develop, and administer databases.
- Understand operational requirements, including hardware, architecture, configuration, monitoring integration, and maintenance of mission-critical Production PostgreSQL databases.
- Configure, backup, recover, upgrade/patch, and replicate PostgreSQL databases.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Perform database capacity planning and recommend hardware and software upgrades.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and provide solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data infrastructure configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Continually improve database administration standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Provide on-call support for critical database issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- 5+ years of core DBA experience.
- In-depth understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, features, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in database design, implementation, and administration.
- Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Automation using Salt or similar tools like Puppet, Chef, and Ansible.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Proficiency in shell scripting is a must.
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Passion for learning and continuously improving yourself and the team around you.
- Must be fluent in written and verbal English.
