Job Purpose:We are seeking a high calibre individual with relevant experience to take on a senior role in the Pricing division and support the Longevity pricing as we look to expand this line of business further. The successful candidate's primary focus will be within the Biometrics team but they will also be expected to build up an understanding of the whole Pricing process.The Biometrics and Inforce Management team has the following main responsibilities:Delivering analysis of client experience and maintaining a pool of experience analysis results for the purposes of quotes, basis development work and valuation assumption settingMaintaining and developing our experience analysis toolsDeveloping systems and methods to ensure efficient processes and maximum insight is gainedEngaging with clients to maximise the value of the in force portfolioDemonstrating pricing impact of underwriting rules through analysis of application and experience dataThe primary focus will be on Longevity deliverables, working closely with both the Pricing and Longevity teams. They will also support the team where required on Protection business.Key Responsibilities:Ensuring all Longevity related deliverables are produced to a high standard and within agreed timescalesChecking and reviewing experience analyses for the Longevity business and ensuring results of investigations are appropriately fed back to relevant stakeholders for the purposes of quotes, terms of trade and valuation assumptionsEnsuring client and internal policy data is used effectively to enable and perform efficient experience analysesDeveloping an understanding of the whole Pricing process including how we set assumptions as well as helping to train and educate junior members of the team.As a senior person within the team, responsible for helping to develop all individuals within the team by setting expectations, providing feedback and supporting development needsImproving processes and building tools to support digitisation, experience analyses and pricing capabilityParticipation in cross team projectsSupport on experience analyses and projects for the Protection line of business as requiredProviding or supporting knowledge sharing across the Pricing divisionGeneral Duties and Tasks:Work independently or in various teams of mixed disciplines, as required, to deliver the team's objectivesWork closely with colleagues across UKLB, as appropriate, to support UKLB objectivesDevelop analytical tools and actuarial models to help obtain maximum value from available informationProduce high quality written and numerical material appropriate for its purposeOptimise work processes and assess these where improvements are needed to ensure these are effective and efficient, using new technologies where appropriateEnsure the team meets deadlines, deliver on promises, and manage internal / external customers' expectationsProactively support the positive development of UKLB through contributing ideas and participating in initiativesBuild and maintain relationships with other teams.Key Skills and ExperienceEssentialExperience and/or familiarity with Longevity as a business line, and more technically from an experience analysis or process perspectiveStrong analytical skills that can be applied to data in order to make sense of what is happening within Munich Re and its client's businesses.Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Access and good understanding of R, Python and/or SQLAbility to communicate clearly and appropriately with a variety of audiencesAbility to work on own initiativeGood organisational and planning skills with the ability to think laterally as well as logicallyDesirableInsurance/Reinsurance backgroundExperience with Pensions and AnnuitiesExperience using Power BIPrevious line management experienceQualifications and RequirementsWork experience in an actuarial areaNearly Qualified/Qualified actuaryPersonal Attributes:Enthusiasm for working with varying levels of staff and for providing a high level of service to internal and external clientsWillingness to learn new skills and to work flexibly to respond to evolving requirementsMethodical, accurate and good attention to detail.Practical and prioritises well in order to produce the best value outcome possible within available time / resources.Proactive and innovative in solving problemsAbility to gain support/buy-in from others on new solutionsAbility to challenge processesGood team member able to work alongside others, or to work independently as required.Ability to grasp new concepts and technical issues quickly, and communicate them effectively to colleagues.Takes responsibility for delivery of day to day workBenefitsYou will be rewarded with a great compensation package, on target bonus, 25 days annual leave with the option to purchase more along with private medical insurance and employers' contributory pension of 10%About usYou will work in an environment where we think big: Change and culture are continuously role-modelled.
