We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our consultancy firm in the realm of civil construction. The ideal candidate will have over 20 years of extensive experience in the industry, with a proven track record of successful project management, business development, and team leadership. Coming from an engineering background, preferably in civil or architectural disciplines, the General Manager will be instrumental in steering our company towards continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive the company's growth, market presence, and profitability within the civil construction sector.
- Project Oversight: Oversee all phases of project execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. Provide guidance and support to project teams for successful project delivery.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to deliver tailored solutions. Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring their satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, markets, and industry trends to expand the company's portfolio. Lead efforts in business development, including proposal preparation, negotiations, and securing new contracts.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Provide guidance on technical matters, project methodologies, and professional development.
- Financial Management: Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and forecasting for projects and the overall company. Ensure effective cost control measures and maximize profitability.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements across all projects. Implement best practices and quality assurance processes to deliver superior results.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders including government entities, contractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery and successful outcomes.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth. Utilize insights to develop innovative strategies and solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 20+ years of progressive experience in civil construction, with a focus on luxury malls, residential complexes, hotels, resorts, stadiums, theme parks, and infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from conception to completion, delivering on time and within budget.
- Strong business acumen with experience in business development, client management, and contract negotiations.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation, problem-solve, and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Proficiency in project management tools, software, and MS Office Suite.
