The Humes team is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Demand Planner to join our growing team based in Penrose. As a Demand Planner, you will play a critical role maintaining an unconstrained short-term and long-term demand forecast to support replenishment at production, DC and Branches.The role will lead the coordination with other functional teams and stakeholders to develop a consensus demand plan. It also plays a pivotal role to Humes' sales and operation planning (S&OP) process.Ko tā mātou mahi | Our RoleThis will have a core focus on continuous forecast improvements which supports optimising inventory levels, ensuring product availability, and contributing to the overall success of our sales and supply chain operations.The Demand Planner is responsible for achieving desired forecast accuracy metrics, supporting sales and profit goals while maintaining inventory productivity and in-stock goals.If you are a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for driving efficiency, we want to hear from you. Other responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights.
  • Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to gather relevant information and align on demand forecasts, promotions, and new product launches.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish consensus and manage key stakeholder expectations
  • Utilising advanced analytics and forecasting tools to analyse data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Regularly monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Ngā Pūmanawatanga Ōu | What You Will Bring
  • Proven experience in demand planning, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and software. (Excel, Power BI)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and demand planning software is a plus.
