Your new roleWe seek a skilled professional to join our Compliance team at QBE AUSPAC as the Manager of Compliance Advice, offering strategic guidance to our business. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Compliance Advice Breaches, you will play a crucial role in shaping QBE's compliance culture by collaborating closely with the first line of defence. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments to determine breaches of law and overseeing compliance activities in coordination with senior stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive compliance excellence and contribute to our mission of fostering a resilient organisational environment.Additional Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of breaches being appropriately identified, investigated, and reported and ensure timely corrective action is taken when breaches are detected
  • Identify all appropriate external regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to financial services and apply or implement as relevant to facilitate compliance of breach reporting obligations
  • Lead change initiatives in compliance matters, taking ownership of implementation.
  • Oversee local compliance requirements, policies, and internal guidelines.
  • Contribute to compliance strategy and plan execution, aligning with business objectives.
  • Provide proactive compliance advice to meet QBE's regulatory and conduct obligations, managing regulatory risk effectively by providing advice that is consistent with regulator and ombudsman expectations.

About youWe are seeking a dynamic individual with proven leadership capabilities and exceptional interpersonal skills to join our team. Your ability to cultivate strong relationships with senior stakeholders, coupled with effective time management, will be crucial in meeting deadlines and driving success. Moreover, your strong influencing skills and passion for breach advising, combined with a robust regulatory understanding, will set you apart. With experience in compliance or risk management within the financial services or general insurance industry, you bring valuable insights to the table. Additionally, knowledge of the insurance industry and relevant compliance obligations is highly desirable.
