- Minimum 3 Year Management experience
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Preferably Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Operations.
- Milling or Food Process experience.
- Stock planning and forecasting skills.
- Code B drivers’ license.
- Food Safety knowledge.
- Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
- Good technical insight and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to go on training courses relevant to the milling industry.
- Advanced skills in MS Office package.
- Recruitment - Sufficient and competent staff must be recruited in a cost-effective manner as required. Ensure proper induction training of new employees. Ensure that all employees have correct employment contracts.
- Training - Staff must be adequately trained to be able to properly do their tasks. Regular refresher training must also take place.
- Manage all workers' leave plans to ensure sufficient continuity.
- Company matters must be communicated regularly with staff.
- Ensure sound discipline in the department. Apply disciplinary procedures when necessary.

- Employee job descriptions must be revised and updated to always be relevant.

- Member of the Technical Committee. Knowledge of all the production processes, Knowledge of all the production machines
- Stand in for the General Manager when required.- Know how to stand in regarding key issues in case of absence or emergency.
- Problem solving-Must play an active and innovative role to ensure technical problems are solved.
- Extraction - Ensure to achieve extraction goals. Continuous check-ups and corrections
- Volume - Ensure maximum milling rate to be maintained. Ensure minimum down time.
- Quality - Products to be of acceptable quality.Prevention of quality problems/customer complaints
- Plant problem solving
- Documentation - Milling documentation to be kept up to date. Creation of new milling documents as required. Ensure milling staff is familiar with documents and being used in the correct way.
- Reporting - Daily milling reporting. Ensure correct reporting
- Training- Ensure all milling staff are properly trained to do efficient and quality milling.
- Volume requirements to be achieved. Minimize down time.
- Quality-Products to be of acceptable quality. Prevention of quality problems/customer complaints
- Problem solving
- Documentation-Packaging documentation to be kept up to date .Creation of new packaging documents as required.Ensure packaging staff is familiar with documents and being used in the correct way.
- Reporting-Daily packaging reporting
- Training-Ensure all packaging staff are properly trained to do efficient and quality milling.
- Volume-Volume requirements to be achieved. Minimize down time.
- Quality-Products to be of acceptable quality.Prevention of quality problems/customer complaints
- Problem solving
- Documentation-Mixing documentation to be kept up to date. Creation of new mixing documents as required. Ensure mixing staff is familiar with documents and being used in the correct way.
- Reporting-Daily mixing reporting
- Training-Ensure all mixing staff are properly trained to do efficient and quality mixing.
- Schedule-Check-up that maintenance is done on schedule.
- Check up on completeness of maintenance.
- Quality-Check up on the quality of maintenance.
- Cleanliness of equipment and plant
- Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed.
- Fumigation management-Ensure required fumigation is done. Make sure and take responsibility regarding safety aspects of fumigation.
- Pest control management-Ensure sufficient pest control is done. Make sure and take responsibility regarding safety aspects of pest control
- Documentation-Ensure all hygiene and food safety control documents are filled in as required.
- Machine/Operational safety-Ensure machine and operational safety is properly exercised.
- Plant safety rules for staff-Ensure all staff are familiar and understand machine and operational safety.Training to be done with staff as required but also on a continuous way
- Clothing-Ensure clothing of staff is compatible with safety requirements.
- Production materials-Make sure there is always sufficient volumes of production materials (i.e. bags, adhesives, etc.) allowing unhindered max production volume.
- Ingredients and Pre-mixes - Make sure there is always sufficient volumes of ingredients and pre-mixes allowing max production volume.
- Quality - Make sure quality of production materials is according to specification and check up on the quality control with acceptance.
- Sales - Make sure sales of bran are maintained not to allow an overstock
- Load scheduling - Loads to be scheduled and pick-up
- Schedule in advance wheat deliveries as required for Production.
- Liaise with suppliers-Communicate delivery schedules with suppliers.Make sure loads are delivered as per schedule. Solve delivery problems with suppliers.
