About the Project & Opportunity:
Acciona has been awarded the Design & Construct contract for the Singleton Bypass. This major project will see construction of 8km of single lane highway with 6 bridge structures and upgrades to local intersections. This diverse and challenging project has a 2.5year program ensuring longevity in your role and presenting opportunities to grow within the business.As the Project Engineer - Utilities you will be responsible for delivery of the scope including temporary and permanent relocation / installation of services across the site. You will manage multiple interfaces with utilities providers and local council to ensure success of the project.Key accountabilities for the position:
  • Plan and procure appropriate resources to fulfil program requirements (plant, labour, materials and subcontractor requirements)
  • Plan, manage and implement the site establishment activities necessary to ensure all site specific and contract requirements are met in terms of location, fencing, signage, environmental and traffic conditions.
  • Liaise and coordinate collaboratively with internal / external design teams as well as a range of local authorities
  • Financial management and cost tracking of subcontractors and monitoring performance
  • Maintaining project documentation related to scope of works, including quality documentation, progress reports, risk assessments and plans
  • Reporting to management on the progress and status of projects
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Ideally you will have a tertiary education in civil engineering, construction, or something similar
  • You will have site-based experience working on a range of utilities packages ideally supporting a major road or rail project
  • An ability to understand design, problem solve, learn, adapt, and continually challenge yourself
  • Well-developed communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff, and clients
