This role presents a meaningful opportunity for career advancement, personal growth, and leadership development in a vibrant and evolving environment.About the RoleThe Heritage Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in community-centric heritage program, overseeing sponsorship, development, stewardship, and licensing of assets within the heritage portfolio. This position facilitates precinct and place-making initiatives by ensuring quality design, fostering inclusive community engagement, and coordinating efficient planning, delivery, promotion, and utilisation of heritage adaptive reuse projects from start to finish.Key accountabilities include:
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of innovative and creative heritage precinct developments, as well as mid-scale place-making and adaptive reuse projects.
  • Engage and consult with local and regional stakeholders across NSW to ensure projects promote sustainable community outcomes.
  • Support the management of restoration, adaptation, and interpretation design to maintain a consistent approach to branding, narrative, heritage, and cultural storytelling.
  • Develop and oversee cost-efficient project prioritisation and optimisation, including funding approvals, scheduling, scoping, and benefits realisation.
  • Assist in managing a complex and dispersed asset portfolio, contributing to strategic and asset management planning, asset assurance, and operations and maintenance arrangements.
  • Develop specifications, scopes, and procure performance-based contracted services.
  • Support asset leasing and licensing campaigns, including evaluations, negotiations, agreements, and administration, while facilitating continuous improvement initiatives with property users.
  • Coordinate and communicate project interactions and issue resolution across government agencies, councils, local and regional community groups, and external NGOs.
  • Provide operational support for project activations, promotions, and open days, including the production of informational, promotional, and media materials.
  • Assist in the administration of project control working groups, cost centers, budgeting, estimating, and preparation and maintenance of plans, reports, and periodic financial and performance reporting.
About You
  • Government experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating complex, medium-scale design, and construction projects, including visioning, oversight, planning, scheduling, and value optimisation.
  • Knowledge and application of sustainable architectural design principles, compliance measures, heritage, and cultural storytelling for measurable community benefits.
  • Strong track record in engaging diverse regional and local stakeholders to achieve effective customer and community outcomes.
  • Familiarity with asset and property management, leasing/licensing, town planning, rail, and heritage assets (an advantage).
