- learn and understand the avionics, power, propulsion, and communication systems throughout the aircraft
- design, build, and operate subsystem test apparatuses
- design, build, and operate Hardware in the Loop apparatuses
- write automation scripts to interface between aircraft systems and ground equipment
- design and assemble wire harnesses
- use multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other debugging tools for diagnostic purposes
- run 3d printers and CNC machines
- collect and analyze data to learn, iterate, and inform others
- enrolled in an ABET certified university pursuing a BS or MS or PhD degree in mechanical, structural, or aerospace engineering
- have a thorough grasp on first principles and Newtonian physics
- knowledge of aircraft systems and their relationships
- knowledge of CAD (Solidworks, Catia, NX, Fusion360)
- basic scripting experience, python preferred
- you want to work at a small early stage startup
- you want to wear many hats
- self starter and resilient: take a project from start to finish despite vague or little requirements
- participated in Design/Build/Fly, Formula SAE, Baja SAE, Solar Car, Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition, FIRST Robotics, Battlebots, etc.
- demonstrated ability to independently drive projects from inception to completion
