Engineering ManagerRequirements:Engineering Degree preferably at master’s levelHave a degree or professional ID.Must be fluent in EnglishMust have VisaHighlight need for accountability, hands on the production floor role (not office based), sense of urgency, ability to adapt to a growing operations moving on a fast paceMaterial Science knowledge– Specifically NitinolSignificant experience in a range of technical areas and with people management/project leadership ability.Ability to demonstrate understanding and experience of all aspect of People Management, including Disciplinary & Grievance; performance management; coaching & mentoring; Resource Planning.Strong focus on continuous improvement and experience in TPM and Lean manufacturing.Principal accountabilities:To be accountable for ensuring all engineering works are conducted safely, including being accountable for risk assessments, safe systems of work and contractor management pertaining to engineering activities within the plantPlant Facilities Management and DevelopmentEstablish manufacturing systems, procedures, and processes to ensure the plant has the capability to meet customer requirements.Develop, manage, implement, and validate changes to the current plant, processes & products / manufacturing system (value streams)Deliver plant, process and product improvement projects aimed at optimising the plant capability & capacity through the contracting of change with productionProvide maintenance services to production. Accountable for PM program and PM scheduleProvide engineering (equipment and process) support and services including plant & process validation, problem analysis, failure investigation and corrective actions (as agreed with production).Maintain and improve reliability of equipment and facilities (key to productivity and capacity improvement)Provide manufacturing and engineering review/approval for engineering change control systems, including developing & maintaining appropriate measurements to monitor key process improvementsDevelop and manage a plant infrastructure plan and programme to ensure all technical aspects of the plant comply with process and EHS requirementsDevelop and manage the site CAPEX programmeCustomer/Product SupportManage the RFQ process including managing the customer quote system, leading the quote review board which meets dailyProvide technical and business assessment of customer requirements (including RFQ’s) to determine feasibility supply, including developing samples, prototypes, and commercial production capabilityLeading or participating in problem solving and improvement projects in support of quality investigationsNPIManage the execution of a portfolio of NPI projects, with defined prioritization and communication to internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate team resources appropriately to support the projects.Planning, controlling, and executing customer NPI projects from initial idea to commercial production, including all activities to coordinate qualification of the required processes to manufacture and inspect parts.Act as a conduit to understand the customer needs and to translate this into a technical specification that can be used by the plant.
