NDE SME shall be the individual with specialised knowledge, skills, and experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques and practices. Non-destructive examination (NDE) refers to the process of inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components, or structures without causing damage to them.Key Deliverables
Technical Expertise: Providing expert guidance and advice on the selection and application of appropriate NDT methods and techniques based on the specific materials, components, or structures being examined.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring that NDT procedures and practices meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality control protocols to maintain the integrity and reliability of inspection results.
Procedure Development: Developing and/or reviewing NDT procedures, protocols, and inspection plans to ensure they are accurate, effective, and compliant with applicable standards and specifications.
Training and Certification: Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate technicians, inspectors, and other personnel on NDT principles, techniques, safety protocols, and best practices. Additionally, assisting in the certification process for NDT personnel.
Risk Assessment: Assessing the risks associated with material degradation, defects, or flaws detected through NDE techniques and providing recommendations for mitigation or remediation.
Equipment Evaluation and Maintenance: Evaluating NDT equipment and technologies, recommending upgrades or replacements as needed, and ensuring proper calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to maintain equipment reliability and accuracy.
Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analysing NDT inspection data, interpreting results, and providing detailed reports and recommendations to stakeholders regarding the condition, integrity, and performance of inspected materials or components.
Research and Development: Staying abreast of advancements in NDT technologies, methodologies, and applications through ongoing research, collaboration with industry peers, and participation in conferences and workshops.
Client Consultation: Collaborating with clients, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to address NDT-related challenges, provide technical solutions, and support decision-making processes regarding material selection, manufacturing processes, and structural integrity assessments.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost optimization within the NDT program, implementing best practices, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.Minimum Qualifications/ Experience
PCN Level III RT and Phased Array, Level II UT, PT, MT.
CSWIP, PCN film interpretation all metal types.
10 Years NDT experience.
A welding inspection qualification is also desirable.Additional Qualifications/ Experience
