Position SummaryAssist in location engineering activities that support design or process improvement of the business unit. Be a driving force for continuous improvement for the facility while working with all levels of the organization. Interns will be provided with training and mentorship that will translate to real-world skills and experiences. 20 – 40 hours per week.Responsible for the assistance of determining and developing production processes for manufacturing operations - to drive the reduction of non-value added activity, and support improved process flow through improved design of equipment and methods.
  • Evaluate existing processes and to configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve safety and sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process
  • Ensures plant is actively engaged in Continuous Improvement activities and driving sustainable results
Qualifications
  • Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
  • Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • At minimum, an Undergraduate Engineering student entering Junior year
  • Ability to work MS Office, CAD (SolidWorks) experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently
  • Blue print reading and technical report writing
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Understanding of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement
