Are you a Bachelor or Master student in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Physics looking for an internship? Do you have knowledge of the Mechanical Design process? Would you like to set up a feasible design for measurement systems to achieve contactless air-gap measurements? Are you ready to work closely with experts in this field? Then this internship might be interesting to you! Background InformationThe Optical Column Mechatronics Group is part of the Imaging Cluster for DUV (Deep Ultraviolet) Lithography at ASML. The team consists of Mechatronics engineers that work closely together with professionals from other competences such as Mechanical, Electronic and Software engineering. Together, we are able to drive innovation and success.Your AssignmentThe Reticle Masking (ReMa) module is inside the optical path of the DUV machine containing various mechatronic challenges. The ReMa module works with blades on an air-bearing. The gap between the bearing and the blade is required to be accurate for optimal performance. Therefore, the goal of this assignment is to achieve contactless air-gap measurements for the ReMa module. Some of your tasks may include, but are not limited to:Conduct a feasibility study for sensor selection;Set up a design for measurement systems considering mounting, repeatability, industrialization;Test the feasibility of the design using FUMO;Industrialization of the design for volume (Qualification method, Testing setup, Gauge R&R).Your ProfileTo be a good match for this internship, you:Are busy with your bachelor's or master's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Physics; Are solution oriented and have a hands-on mentality;Have knowledge of the Mechanical Design process;Have an outside-the-box thinking and a proactive attitude;Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written). This is an internship for 4-5 days a week with a duration of 3 to 6 months. The start date is as soon as possible. Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship. This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations.
