- A willingness to be versatile and a team player in contributing towards a variety of water resources projects.
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Developing solutions and assessments using hydraulic modelling techniques.
- Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
- Develop solutions for routine technical problems with limited scope.
- Provision of contract administration services.
- Work under supervision of a project engineer or senior-level team member.
- Technical report writing.
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering, or other related field with the intent to continue after the internship unless graduating.
- Must have completed 2 years of study.
- Demonstration of high-quality English report writing skills.
- Proficient in using spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
- Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, BioWin, GIS, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).
- Experience with project management concepts and principles.
