The Buyer is relied upon to have and retain strong market knowledge of the various locations in which we operate to help taking buying choices and partner with the store teams to drive their businesses to success. The Buyer collaborates in all buying processes across all categories, tailoring the buy for the EMEA market and seeking opportunities to maximise retail sales.Key Responsibilities:Retail Buy
  • Partners with DOS and Outlet stores to ensure the businesses have efficient buys and stock levels in place to maximise sales potential
  • Collaborates in developing the buying strategy, ensuring that commercial trends are followed using product selection and a clear brand image is translated through the selected range
  • Develops a strong product portfolio to maintain a competitive edge and satisfy market demands
  • Guide the retail buy for all seasons across all categories and licenses for the European market and manages the order entry
  • Identifies opportunities to maximise sales
  • Monitors delivery of stock shipments to ensure product arrives to maximise sales potential for both DOS and Outlet
  • Deliver seasonal buying reporting and pre buying analysis
  • Develops and monitors the delivery plan for Outlets
Product Information
  • Participates in store product training for store teams
  • Creates product knowledge information packs
  • Collaborates with Merchandising on product concerns and opportunities, such as sizing or colour palettes, variations to range
Re-ordering, Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyse and report on product and collection results based on store sales and local trends for DOS and Outlet
  • Monitors sales results / stock levels and makes sound recommendations based on analytics for both DOS and Outlet
  • Implement and run reporting and analysis procedures to closely monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales for the market
  • Identifies best sellers, slow sellers, bestselling sizes and ensures effective stock replenishment
  • Monitors stock consolidations & stock transfers and support the management of issues if necessary
  • Collaborates with VM, Marketing, PR, E-Commerce and Merchandising maximise sales potentials
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of competitors strategies
  • Communicates mark down information and time lines
Client Knowledge
  • Builds knowledge of the Stella McCartney client and understands client buying behaviour to select range suited to local clientele
  • Identifies opportunities to maximise sales by analysing client buying behaviours to ensure we are providing a desirable product selection
Key Requirements:
  • From 3 to 5 years of experience in the buying department (preferably in RTW or accessories/bags
  • Passionate about the fashion industry, with strong trend awareness
  • Strong analytical, planning and reporting skills, capable of monitoring business performance. Knowledgeable on markets, competitors and trends;
  • Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) experienced; knowledge of other systems for sales monitoring, data enter and stock transfers (e.g. BI, RetailPro, Joor);
  • Fluent in both Italian and English (written and spoken).
