- Degree in in Electronic Engineering or related engineering discipline;
- HNC/HND or ONC/OND (or the equivalent thereof) in Electronic Engineering or related engineering discipline;
- Recent demonstrable experience of working in a design or development environment for electronics equipment/products;
- Proven hands-on experience building prototype designs;
- An understanding of Schematic capture and PCB design software;
- An understanding of embedded systems including hardware and software;
- Testing and evaluating electronic circuits or equipment;
- Using basic test equipment PSU's, multi-meters and oscilloscopes;
- Product evaluation and selection against specified criteria;
- Knowledge of PSU (Power supply unit) and Battery technologies;
- Experience in fault finding circuits;
- Building prototype circuits on verobaords and / or PCB's;
- An understanding of RF technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth and LTE.
- Involvement in the liaison with external suppliers and manufacturers;
- Manufacture, production or support of electronic system across modern electronic disciplines;
- Safe use of hand tools and portable power tools.
- Competent in hand soldering surface mount components;
- Designing electronic circuits and exposure to the miniaturization of electronic solutions;
- Working well as part of a project team, and autonomy to complete a task;
- Problem solving aptitude, applying personal initiative when needed;
- Applying electronic principles and analysis of electronic circuits;
- Membership of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), or a similar engineering institution;
