You'll collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders to develop user and system requirements, manage changes, and oversee system design and integration. Your contributions will be instrumental in delivering high-quality products that make a real difference in people's lives.Key Responsibilities:Systems Engineering Design and Development
  • Develop user requirements, system requirements and requirements traceability. Manage these requirements when they are changed. Make sure they get reviewed and approved by the stakeholders
  • Develop verification protocols and verification plan. Manage verification protocols and plan when changes occur. Make sure it gets reviewed and approved by the stakeholders Coordinate and contribute to system design and system integration. Document system design. Manage system design changes. Make sure system design gets reviewed and approved by the stakeholders
  • Patent disclosures generated from the Systems Engineering work.
  • Determines the best division of functionality between components in order to ensure that Estimate system engineering related tasks and monitor task progress.
  • Include Regulatory Requirements into user and system requirements
Systems Engineering and Quality Processes
  • Formulate and assess Systems Engineering Process improvements in conjunction with other Cochlear Systems Engineers at CTC, CLTD and BAS Develop new Systems Engineering procedures where required
  • Implement Cochlear's PIP and contribute to further improvements
  • Use Systems engineering tools (anomaly tracking - Jira, requirement and design capturing - Jama, code management - perforce, ...) and related procedures
  • Follow relevant quality procedures in order to deliver quality products and services and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverables
Platform Architect / design authority
  • Through depth of experience and knowledge of platform design, guide the platform (FW, ASIC, SW) teams to develop designs that meet Cochlear's needs.
  • Provide final sign off of platform design files.
Responsible for high quality platform requirements, design documentation and working closely with the platform developers to ensure optimal design tradeoff decisions are made. * Work with the cross functional development teams to develop platform architectures and requirements that provides a good partition between hardware, ASIC and software/firmware functions
  • Guide engineers in platform best practice and ensures skills are being developed
Provide expert guidance to other cross functional teams.
Ensure quality by thorough design review and characterization and qualification of final silicon.Minimum Requirements:
  • 10 years post qualification experience in engineering design and verification, preferably with hardware, embedded software and / of firmware controlled electro-mechanical products
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering successful large process improvements
  • Demonstrated experience in independently leading and delivering work packages to meet milestones.
  • Proven experience working in team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in engineering/science (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical or System Engineering preferred)
  • Broad knowledge of architecting and systems engineering principles and methods
  • Broad knowledge of simulation and Systems Engineering tools
