In a highly growing and fast changing innovative business environment, assuring the food safety and product quality compliance along the different phases of project management is key for effective transition to operation of new business & product innovations. Within these projects you focus on the plant based products. In the role as Quality and Food Safety (QFS) in Design Engineer, this is your top responsibility. You work from our offices in Wevelgem and report directly to the QFS in Design Senior Manager.About the job:In this position, your responsibilities include:

Contribute and support in Alpro innovation/renovation, 3PM and investment projects together with the project team
Act as quality representative in these projects guaranteeing effective tracking and monitoring of projects, reporting project status and assuring effective transition to operation
Execute risk assessments in Quality and Food Safety (QFS) for these projects and support in making the right Make or Buy decision
Perform process validations in line with Danone QFS standards and support implementation of risk mitigation actions.
Define and implement product, process and packaging quality specifications
Establish, document, implement and maintain QFS in Design procedures
Develop quality control plans with the support of plant quality team
Participate in cross divisional risk analysis management

You have a university degree (preferably Bio-Engineer, option food technology, food chemistry) and you show a strong interest in the food industry and technology
A first experience in the food industry or life sciences, in a function related to technical quality is preferred
You combine an analytical mindset with a quality and customer minded attitude
Your excellent interpersonal and influencing skills enable you to connect with different types of people
You are a real team player who is driven to go for results
You have strong project management skills, able to manage smaller projects and you are eager to grow and to manage more complex projects in the future

You have an autonomous, pro-active approach and ability to balance between a clear 'no go' and being pragmatic in order to support on time launches whilst safeguarding food safety and protecting consumers
Knowledge of HACCP / FSCC 22000

You speak & write fluent English, Dutch and/or French is a plus
