- Lead, mentor, and provide guidance to the central BESIX L&D team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for each team member, and conduct regular performance evaluations and feedback sessions.
- Delegate tasks effectively, considering individual strengths and workload capacities, to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of projects.
- Foster open communication and constructive collaboration within the team, encouraging knowledge sharing, idea generation, and problem-solving.
- Collaborate closely with the QHSE Department & the training managers from different business units and regional entities to understand their specific training needs, align training initiatives with business goals, and ensure consistency and effectiveness of training programs across the group.
- Assume responsibility for the management of the BESIX Training Center, including facility management, ensuring a conducive and safe learning environment for all training activities.
- Monitor and manage the budget allocated for the L&D team, optimizing resources and expenditures to maximize return on investment.
- Stay abreast of construction trends, best practices, and innovations in learning and development, incorporating new methodologies and technologies.
- Training Request Processing:
- Receive, review, and prioritize training requests from various departments, sites and managers.
- Follow-up on required tools and systems to optimize processes, lower administration and identify opportunities for better user communication.
- Collect all necessary information related to training needs, including required competencies, job roles, and desired outcomes.
- BESIX Training Programs Coordination (white & blue collars):
- Ensure the smooth running of various BESIX training programs.
- Review the needs of these programs annually and adapt them if necessary.
- Coordinate logistics, including scheduling venues, arranging equipment, lunches, hotels, and ensuring availability of necessary training materials.
- Regularly interact with the daughter companies of the group, to share best practices, coordinate overarching initiatives and stimulate learning across the group
- Communicate training schedules, requirements, and any changes to relevant stakeholders, including employees, managers, and trainers.
- Evaluation and Reporting:
- Analyze training data and generate reports on training activities, attendance, completion rates, and overall outcomes.
- Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement based on training evaluations and participant feedback.
- Compliance and Recordkeeping:
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and policies governing training requirements.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues and other departments to ensure that the LMS is used correctly so that training records are properly maintained, including certificates of completion, validity, etc.
- Member of the People Group team
- Actively contribute to the further development of the People Strategy of BESIX Group.
- Co-develop with colleagues the talent & leadership pipeline of BESIX Group through L&D actions and contributions
- Create a culture of learning curiosity throughout the group both in leadership as for each colleague.
- Assist and support projects of other domains in People from a L&D perspective tyo enhance adheres and understanding
- Master's, bachelor's degree, or equivalent qualification.
- Preference given to candidates with prior experience as a L&D manager, or in related HR roles in a complex business context.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication in French, Dutch, and English, enabling effective interaction with employees, managers, and external trainers.
- Demonstrated experience in people management.
- Proven organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of handling numerous training requests and projects concurrently.
- Keen interest in the construction sector.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining precise training records.
- Aptitude for collaborative work within a team-oriented environment.
