Research Assistant

• Execute the tasks to ensure the correct traceability of the plant materials in the greenhouses from the transplanting until the harvest.
• Execute data collection related to replants, pre-harvests, “check-outs” and other requested information during the plant grow cycle.
• Execute greenhouse plant care and other operational related activities to meet production expectation.
• Execute hand pollinations.
• Follow all stablished standard operational procedures (SOP) and regulatory rules with a high level of attention to detail.
• Identify and report to the supervisor deviations of the processes. Special focus on safety, quality and compliances is required.
• Supervise contractor employees to achieve business goals.
• Maintain a professional and collaborative work environment with all the team members.

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 3 years of experience in basic field work and research station activities is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, contractors, and managers in a professional and respectful manner.
• Supervisory skills preferred.
• Work independently and as part of a team as well as have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and networks to optimize process workflows and assist in achieving team's business goals.
• Have good organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities with limited supervision.
• This job requires standing for long periods of time and performing repetitive tasks in a warm, humid greenhouse where pollen is constantly present.
• Ability to operate agricultural equipment while observing all safety requirements.
• Competency with standard Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new technologies and software.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, strategic analysis, and communication skills.
• Willing and able to work weekends, holidays and overtime when needed
• Willing and able to work shift work when needed
