The level of responsibility is able to adjusted depending on the person and their competency. The farm lessee will remain actively involved in the farm and undertake various farm tasks.The position requires a person to work independently in the major day to day activities involved in running a farm of this type. Including but not limited to:
- All aspects of milk harvesting - maintaining a high level of animal health, dairy hygiene and milk quality.
- Pasture management
- Calf feeding/rearing (others will assist with this)
- Weed control
- Feeding out
- Mineral supplementation
- Heat detection
- Effluent system management
- Tractor operation
- Repairs and maintenance
- Land area: 65ha (effective)
- Herd size: 200 Cross breed cows (approx.)
- Calving pattern: 100% Spring calving
