12 Hour Day and Night ShiftsThis is a great opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology with a leading food packaging company located in Moorabbin.They are the largest plastics recycler in Australia and New Zealand and one of the regions biggest user of recycled materials. They operate over 100 manufacturing facilities across 15 countries, and their customers include some of the world's largest brands.If you have proven experience working as a Mould Technician in the high speed food packaging industry, then we would like to hear from you.Primary Objective of the Position:
  • Responsible for production outputs to achieve production plan..
  • Responsible for operating moulding machines (including in-line equipment), by performing processing adjustments of injection moulding machines to achieve machine efficiency and scrap targets.
  • Product changes as per machine production schedule - material, masterbatch and label
  • Basic problem solves machine issue to restore flow to achieve production targets.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Have a duty to take care of your health and safety and that of others, and to protect the environment.
  • To contribute to the effective operation of the HACCP program and FS program by assisting production and quality control staff to ensure that the requirements of the quality and food safety system are met and maintained.
  • To carry out the product inspections as per Inspection Standards
  • Perform colour changes on the line to ensure minimal cross contamination.
Production
  • Adjustments to equipment to ensure production is made in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner.
  • Perform Advance troubleshooting on the line and for major issues notify managers supervisors then log issue into Team Assurance.
  • Adjustments equipment to fix quality issues like Flashing, Shorts Shots, burn marks, Label off center, burn through on label, Warping, Tails, Colour variation/streaks, Holes, Pulling on shoulder, Contamination, Sample size too large/small.
Knowledge and Skills required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical, hydraulic, robotic / automation
  • Computer skills - Software SAP/ Intouch / Team Assurance programs
  • Experience in plastic manufacturing or similar regulated manufacturing environment well regarded.
